This is an opportunity to join the Technical Product Management (TPM) team at Oatly, working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The TPM team takes care of our existing product portfolio and drives continuous improvement of our oat base process, products and packaging. You will have a key role in Oatly’s journey ahead as Development Engineer to take the ownership of product standards, specifications, improvements and maintenance of existing product assortment. Your focus will be on the final products characteristic and applications, to help us in our mission to make it easy for people to eat better and live healthier lives without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources.

Here’s what you would do,

- Lead and participate in product improvement and product maintenance projects such as changes of critical product and process parameters or changes and replacement of standard ingredients within existing product assortment

- Collaborate with existing and new suppliers regarding replacing ingredients

- Plan, execute and follow up lab and pilot scale experiments as well as perform factory trials internally and with external partners

- Support Sustainable Operations driven projects by having the focus on the product quality at product moves and start-up of new lines and factories

- Support Commercial driven projects related to launches of existing products in new markets

- Participate in the digitalization of our product data management and product development process including the development and optimization of our PLM-system.

- Participate in cross-functional work with product specifications, standards as well as product process improvements by working in close cooperation with colleagues in other departments.

- Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analyses, and problem-solving contributing with product and process know-how

- Master of Science within Food Engineering or Food Technology

- At least five years’ experience from product development, product improvements and product maintenance within the food industry

- Experience from working with product specifications

- Industry experience of food processing

- Working knowledge from project management

- Troubleshooting and handling deviations

- Experience from working with PLM - and Quality Management Systems

- Fluent in English (oral and written)

Job description

In this role, you will work in the European New Product Development team which is part of the global Food Innovation organization. You will report to the New Product Development Manager EMEA, the position is based at Oatly in Landskrona. You will be part of a global growth journey in a company with creative thinking and innovative products. Responsibilities
• Lead and participate in New Product Development projects internally and with external partners - from idea to launch
• Lead and participate in product improvement projects that entail major recipe and/or process changes and contribute with product technology knowledge within Oatly
• Ensure great taste and functionality
• Monitor trends and innovative solutions within food technology and contribute to the food technology roadmap
• Cooperate closely with the commercial, quality, sourcing and production teams and of course with other parts of the Food Innovation organization

Qualifications
To succeed in the role you have the ability to see ”the bigger picture” from idea to final product and have an insight into the business impact of the choices you do. You have the drive to get things done with an analytical but open mindset. You are a strong leader who is stimulated and energized by working in a high-pressure environment and still have the ability to prioritize and get things done.

Communication is key and you enjoy having many different partners in your daily work both internally and externally. • Master of science degree within food science, food technology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, agriculture or similar education
• 5+ years of product development experience from the food industry
• Plant-based dairy and/or dairy technology knowledge

• Documented project management experience from the food industry, working all the way from idea to final product

We see that you have excellent English skills, verbally and written. It is a great advantage if you also know Swedish.

We are looking for two Senior Project Managers for our new project management office within the product development department. Here´s a thrilling role where you will get to lead strategically important cross-functional product & process development projects and programs. We want our project managers to fall in love with the product idea and drive development from idea to launch, while never losing their strong business sense and focus. You will be the driving force in our most complex projects, keeping a holistic mindset, challenging and cooperating with different stakeholders across the company to provide your team with what they need to deliver the best results. You will also be a key player in co-creating project management tools and practices and contribute actively to a more project oriented culture at Oatly. Part of your mission, on top of delivering the project, is to enable the great, skilled people in Oatly to see and engage in a unified Oatly project structure and way of working, to make us faster and more efficient and ensure that our products are always world class.

It will be a great advantage if you have experience in change management and in operating in a fast growing organization. And if you really want to stand out, you have experience in building a project management culture and structure from scratch, doing so with the use of the variety of project management delivery models that you are anchored in. As technical background, we would love to see that you have a major in food science or food processing and that you have work experience in these areas and/or in food packaging. We would be absolutely thrilled if you even have a track record in food product development.
It is necessary that you are fluent in English and a plus if you speak Swedish.

Arbetsuppgifter:

Work tasks
As a part of the Application Management team you will work with colleagues in Landskrona, Paris and Suzhou. Together with Segment Management you combine system and component knowledge to drive technical expertise within different applications. You are a part of the technical support and expertize for BPHE applications as well as participating in different projects, both new development and application projects. Here you also provide technical training and develop associated training material. Driving knowledge capturing/sharing for selected applications and competence areas is also within your responsibility. The role involves some travelling to customers together with our sales reps and to exhibitions world-wide

Profil:

Education, experience and personal characteristics
• A Master’s or equivalent Chemical, Physics or Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
• Previous experience of heating, cooling, HVAC, refrigeration systems or laboratory work (meriting)
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required, Swedish is beneficial
